Protests orchestrated by both the left-wing Urban Rising Movement and the right-wing Reconstitutionalists (Recon) have become an almost weekly occurrence, and a brutal mass shooting at a top university has rocked the nation. Troubled ex-journalist Cassandra DaCosta mysteriously discovers a muffled audio recording which seems to implicate the Pound administration in the mass shooting. When Cassandra leaks the audio to the public, the match is lit on powder keg tensions, and it sets in motion a chain of events leading to the fall of the American Republic.
